The weekend finally arrived -- the annual Jackson's Orchard trip 2017 is in the books and it did not disappoint. We headed out early on Saturday morning in an attempt to beat the crowd and the heat of the day. We managed to get there before it was crazy-crowded, but I'm afraid we didn't beat the heat. It was indeed hotter than a pepper sprout. By the time we left there, we were all sweaty and red-faced, but filled with apple cider slushie and happy new memories of sliding down the cider slider.
It was so great to see my people after what felt like a really long hiatus. I miss them so much!
So as I said before, it had been a really long time since I'd seen my people, so we were backlogged on exchanging a few birthday gifts. I was totally taken off-guard by my sister surprising me with tickets to see the Nutcracker ballet in December here in Louisville. I can not WAIT for our sister date!
Annual Jackson's Orchard trips are probably my most favorite weekend of the entire year. Chris doesn't totally understand my obsession, but he knows that my love is deep for this one weekend of a year and so he just goes along with it.
I think it started out being fun because of my love for all things pumpkin. And then I discovered the apple cider slushie and my heart grew 3 times it's normal size.
Though my slushie and pumpkin love is unwavering and bordering on cuckoo, my love for spending time with my family is the real reason I think I love this weekend so much.
But if I'm honest here...spending time with my family surrounded by multi-colored pumpkins and apple delights just makes it that much better.
...yeah, I'm goin' to Jackson. Ain't never comin' back!
