More Pumpkins and More Pigs

We kicked this past weekend off with some good old fashioned fallish Octoberish Halloweenish festivities. We headed out to Nana and Papaw's house to eat chili and carve pumpkins, and it was a fun family night.

Amelia was not impressed with the seeds and yucky goop inside the pumpkins, but she was quite intrigued with watching her Daddy do all the work.

We had two pumpkins to carve, so Chris turned his pumpkin into a happy goofy face, and we named him Snaggle. One guess as to why.

With the other pumpkin, Papaw tried to get creative and carve a George Pig (Peppa's little brother for those of you who aren't up with the Peppa lingo).

It turned out pretty good I think!

Saturday we got Amelia all dressed up in her Peppa costume and took her to visit her great grandmother in Shelbyville.

She was VERY excited to be dressed up as Peppa Pig. The only disappointment she had was that she couldn't convince me and Chris to put on our Mommy & Daddy Pig costumes.

On Sunday the temperature continued to drop all day long which really put a damper on our plans for taking Amelia to the trunk or treat event at church. But we decided to bundle her up as best we could and at least make a brief appearance.

She got about five pieces of candy and declared "Let's go home! It's cold!"

Amen, Peppa.

But let me tell you - she is so proud of those five pieces of candy. They went directly into her Peppa Pig lunchbox that she uses as her candy stash and she immediately ate her very first Snickers bar.

I'd call that a HAPPY HALLOWEEN.
