Lovely Visitors

This weekend our good friends Candice and Brian came up to visit us. We had so much fun visiting with them and taking them to some of our favorite places!

Since sushi is sort of our thing when the four of us get together, Friday night we took them to our favorite local sushi joint called Hiko-a-Mon. After dinner we walked around the little shopping center where they were having some sort of concert & then headed home.

Saturday {after sleeping in b/c we stayed up late talking Friday night!} we had to take them to one of our absolute favorite places - Mojitos Tapas! Love that place. They have amazing fish tacos & guacamole with plantain chips. Yum!

After lunch, we decided to walk around Market Street to peruse some of our favorite shops -- Peace of the Earth {cute homemade soaps & lotions}, Red Tree {eclectic home decor}, and Revolver {super cute re-purposed vintage decor}. Even though it was a warm day, we thought it might be fun to take a walk on the Louisville railroad bridge because it has a beautiful view of the city. As it turned out, there was a wonderful breeze blowing up there so it was a lovely little walk!

But after walking 2 miles, we were a little warm, so we decided to cool off with some lemonade at a local restaurant on the river called Captain's Quarters. You can sit in Adirondack chairs and watch boats float by -- it's pretty cool!

After boat watching, we headed to our favorite little neighborhood called Nortons Commons to get some gelato. I guess the lemonade didn't cool us off enough so we had to take it up a notch! Just so you know, if you come up to visit us, no visit is complete without an ice cream run! :)

Saturday night we headed to downtown Louisville and ended up going to a contemporary art museum. I have to take contemporary art with a grain of salt {or whatever that saying is!}. Some of it was really cool and then some of it was...well, I didn't really understand what the artist was trying to say -- yeah, that's a nice way of saying it!

Our guests headed home on Sunday morning and we were sad that the weekend went by so fast! We had a wonderful time! {Come back anytime Candice & Brian!}

But I have to admit, we were pretty excited to go out to Chris's parent's house Sunday afternoon to pick up our little Lucy girl who had spent the weekend at her grandparents. Boy, was she happy to see us too!
