A Tale of Two Nanas (and a G-Lo)

In case you are wondering what a G-Lo is...that would be the name my mom has chosen as her official grandma name. One day shortly after I had told my family the exciting news of my pregnancy, the ladies of my family were all hanging out at my Aunt Tammy's pool discussing all things baby -- including grandma names. We were tossing out name ideas for my mom.

Ryder calls her Lori, so we were trying to think of more "grandmother-ish" names for Amelia to call her. I was fond of the more traditional names like Granny, Grandma, Mamaw, etc. My mother, being the young hip thing that she is, was not feeling any of those options. Mom was toying with the idea of Lola or Lolo...some play on the name 'Lo', when Grace shouted out "What about G-Lo?" And that was all it took - Mom thought it was too cute (as much as I tried to fight it because I said it sounded like a rapper!).


And in case you are wondering, that is pronounced "jee - low" not "glow".

Yesterday, Amelia was one lucky little girl who got to spend some time visiting with all 3 of her grandmothers! Chris's mom has chosen Nana as her grandma name, and of course my grandmother goes by Nana, so Amelia had her 2 Nana's and her G-Lo. And she got to visit with her cousin Ryder too!

They had a great visit & Amelia gave them lots of smiles and giggles. She is one blessed little grandbaby.
