Happy 4th of July

That was a long weekend - and that means this will probably be a long post! We crammed a lot of activities into this holiday weekend!

Most of our time was spent packing, moving, unpacking, cleaning, and decorating. Chris's parents came down and we rented a u-haul Friday night.

Between the u-haul and our three vehicles, we managed to move everything in just two trips!

By the time we got everything moved into the new house, we were exhausted so we picked up some Chik-fil-a and took it home (our first meal in the new house!) and then watched the fireworks show from our new patio. We had a great view of the big fireworks display they do at the Corvette Museum.

Saturday was a day of unpacking and trying to organize the house. We kept ourselves so busy, it was 2:00 before we realized we better eat some lunch! His parents took us to O'Charleys before they went back to Louisville. We were all so exhausted from moving and hungry too that we pretty much sat at the table in silence - too tired to even talk!

Sunday morning Chris and I went to church and enjoyed another wonderful sermon by Brother Steve - this week he preached about how God is love and how God's love is seen when we show love for each other. After church, we ran home and met Nana and Charlie so they could see our new house.

We're so excited to actually have our house - I can't wait til I live there too and we can have friends and family over for dinner!

Sunday night we went to Chris's boss's house for a 4th of July party. They had tons of fireworks and all kinds of yummy food. Unfortunately while we were there, a thunderstorm blew up and they were running around like crazy trying to light the fireworks before the rain ruined them. We watched the fireworks show from inside, haha!

Monday was spent shopping - we took some of our gift cards that we were given at showers and bought a few things for the house. A bookcase, throw pillows, bar stools, and patio chairs.

I love how it is all coming together!

Monday afternoon we also went to the movies to see Larry Crowne.

It was really cute & a perfect break from our busy weekend. By the way, are we the only people who sneak drinks and candy in the theater to save money?

Last night we put together our bookcase and finished decorating and then gave Lucy a bath and a hair cut.



She is settling in nicely to her new home - you know she is the queen of the castle. :) 

Overall we had a great 4th of July weekend, and I feel so blessed for the freedom we have in this country.
